WELCOME TO M3T-AIR

{Melchizedek's Messianic & Mosaic Templar Academy for Indigenous Rootz). Our cultural beliefs support an academically vigorous and proactive education that is responsive to ALL Mu-Salem needs.
• MISSION —M3T-AIR is an arts and cultural organization dedicated to supporting the creative, mathematic, scientific and vocational development of youth and families of Indigenous African & American Nationals near Oaxitau Proper and the surrounding Arkansas communities. M3T-AIR was born in the fall of 1994 as a six-week Rite of Passage for 1 Project Simba student. It has since grown to encompass six integrated programs that serve over 500 students annually through on-site & on-line academic and literacy training.
• We are a supportive network and extended family that is able to provide our students with development and skills for new perceptions that lead to both critical analysis and responsible decision-making.
• In addition, we provide social services to our students and their families either directly or through referrals to strategic partners. We encourage our students and their families to:
- Be leaders, developing her/his unique sense of capabilities and potential.
- Collectively Work for the benefit of their respective communities.
- Cooperatively Economize for the benefit of the larger global community.
• Equally important is positive engagement with the parents and the families of the children we serve within the schools and systems that nurture them. We instruct on a variety of subjects from martial and visual arts classes, personal skills development, community development, cultural heritage classes, socially responsible art and through our public programming & affiliated performances.
• As a pillar of strength, we have taken a leadership role in Goxen and surrounding communities; inspiring a new generation to improve the quality of life within our community in order to reach high levels of creative, personal and academic achievement.
Our enlightened community offers a personalized learning environment where both the academic program and organizational structure are designed to promote positive and supportive relationships through academic engagement, advisors, student diversity and fact-driven instruction. We believe our purpose is to build bridges to commerce and the metaphysical world. We are committed to empowering EVERY student; guiding them toward self controlled lives, building leadership capacity and developing the needed skill for success in college and the world beyond.
- We Provide— Young women and men with alternative ways of welcoming and redefining your beliefs, while offering a wide range of options to help you explore the “what if’s” with faculty who are dedicated to help you reach your full potential.
- Our Approach—M3T-AIR aims to fully develop our students in a nurturing environment of unconditional love, acceptance, and understanding. We provide an environment that fosters an honest exchange of thoughts and perceptions of a world fraught with challenges and obstacles to positive decision-making.
- Our student base is comprised of youth living in Arkansas’ Indigenous community of Roots & Coy and comprised of diverse backgrounds of the adjacent neighborhoods. M3T-AIR serves a population that includes Indigenous Americans as well as immigrant families from Africa, South America and the Caribbean, who hold in common a desire to learn true facts about their unique heritage and history.
- The Focus —To develop the interpersonal, educational and professional skills that will empower youth and families to achieve greater fulfillment of their highest destiny.
- M3T-AIR’s MANTHINK Memnon Mind-Set is the foundation of our existence. Designed to offer African boys the strongest sense and history of self, M3T-AIR’s MANTHINK Memnon Mind-Set runs year-round and includes a Saturday program as well as special workshops and summer cultural tours. The MANTHINK Memnon Mind-Set provides historical information about the great cultures of Ancient America, Africa and the cultures of melanin dominant global culture to over 160 youth and 50 parents annually. By learning the languages and culture of the melanin dominant Diaspora, families develop a sense of connection with the vast and complex history of their ancestors.

- PROGRAM COMPONENTS
- The program has three active major components and two planned components:
- Cultural History Classes: M3T-AIR offers four weekly Saturday classes for youth aged 6-16 and their families. The classes introduce cultural awareness. By offering a choice of four sessions, students are able to tailor these classes around their Cultural Arts class schedule. There are currently 50 youth participating in the MANTHINK Memnon Mind-Set.
- Malcolm X Annual Scholar Lecture: Targeted toward both youth and adults, this lecture series brings in African scholars and historians three times a year to discuss critical issues and trends relevant to the African Diaspora.
- Sankofa Gomela {Go back & get it to return} International Cultural Studies Exchange: This program offers students and their families the invaluable opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the cultures they have studied and establish relationships with an international community of peers and adults. Each year students and parents learn first-hand about their heritage by making a two-week trip to a country where African descendants have made their home. Prior to this summer trip, participants prepare by studying the languages and cultures of the countries they plan to visit. This program has enabled families that otherwise would have been unable to visit countries such as: Benin, Brazil, Cuba, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Nigeria and Senegal!
- Language Institute: Targeted toward both youth and adults, the language institute is designed to provide free language classes to the community. The classes focus on the prominent language spoken in conjunction with our Sankofa Gomela Program and are usually taught by an individual originating from the travel country and include cultural and historic information about the countries in which the language is spoken. Most recently, we offered Aramaic/Hebrew, Latin, Wolof and Yoruba.
- Film Series: The film series is designed to provide an opportunity for both youth and adults to view films written and directed by filmmakers of African descent with topics centered on historic and contemporary issues relevant to people within the African Diaspora. The film series is accompanied by a community dialogue with either the filmmaker and/or guest scholar. In the past, M3T-AIR has partnered with the Pan African Connection to sponsor free films and seminars on the African presence in Asia and Australia with discussions led by scholar and historian, Runoko Rashidi.
